Day 1: Santiago, Chile

Your driver will meet you at the Santiago airport and take you to your hotel.

Accompanied by your English-speaking guide and driver, you’ll set off on a half-day tour to explore the Chilean capital, a metropolis nestled at the foot of the Andes with unparalleled charm (lunch not included).

Although Santiago has evolved into a modern and bustling city over the years, some neighborhoods have retained all their romantic charm. From the central Plaza de Armas to the colorful streets of the Bellavista neighborhood and the lush Santa Lucia Hill, you’ll learn more about Chile’s turbulent and fascinating history as you explore.

Day 2: Santiago, Chile – Casablanca Valley

Your driver will meet you at the Santiago airport and take you to your hotel in the Casablanca Valley.

We arrived at the Matetic vineyard to spend the night at the Casona Boutique Hotel, located in the heart of the estate.

Dinner is included, along with half a bottle of Corralillo wine per person.

Day 3: Casablanca Valley – Valparaíso

If you’d like, you can visit the Matetic vineyard in the morning. Founded in the 1980s by a family of Croatian origin, Matetic was one of the first to plant Shiraz grapes in Chile. After a tour of the estate and the winery, you’ll taste four premium wines from the EQ range, served with fresh bread and organic olive oil.

Group tour with an English- or Spanish-speaking local guide.

Your driver will pick you up at your hotel in Casablanca and drive you to Valparaíso.

Guided tour of Valparaíso, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its historic neighborhoods. With its many hills topped with picturesque homes and warehouses, its narrow, steep streets, its funiculars, and its street performers, the city has a very unique identity and atmosphere. You’ll discover the city’s most iconic neighborhoods, from the Caleta Portales fishing port to the famous Alegre and Concepción hills, not to mention—if you’d like—the house-museum of poet Pablo Neruda, La Sebastiana.

Day 4: Valparaíso

Day off.

Take the time to wander through the narrow streets, discover the picturesque murals hidden in Bellavista’s open-air museum, chat with the fishermen in the harbor district, and climb up and down the (hills) Alegre and Concepción, designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites, thanks to the many funiculars, enjoy an ice cream or an “amor porteño” at the café of the same name, and stroll along the “paseos” Atkinson and 21 de Mayo, which offer panoramic views of the harbor and the entire bay.

Day 5: Valparaíso – Isla Negra – Colchagua Valley – San Antonio Valley – Colchagua Valley

Drive to the Pacific coast and Isla Negra, a charming cove lined with coastal pines, to visit one of the homes of Pablo Neruda, the poet and inveterate epicurean.

The day continues through the region’s wine-growing valleys, stretching from the mountain range to the ocean. Along the way, you’ll discover the Casa Marin estate.

This winery, known as San Antonio, stands out for its unique location near the ocean and the fact that its founder, María Luz Marin, became the first woman on the South American continent to be both an oenologist and a vineyard owner in 2000.

A tour of the main house, the winery, and the vineyards, followed by a tasting of four wines from the estate.

Lunch at the Cirpreses Vino Bar restaurant, located on the grounds of the Casa Marin vineyard, is included.

At the end of the day, you’ll arrive at your hotel in the Colchagua Valley near Santa Cruz. The drive from Isla Negra to Santa Cruz takes about 3 hours.

Day 6: Colchagua Valley

Your driver will pick you up at your hotel to show you around the Colchagua Valley and take you to the wineries of your choice. The Colchagua Valley is renowned for its red wines: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carmenère, Malbec, Syrah…

Along the way, you can visit the Colchagua Museum, which houses Chile’s largest private collection and traces the country’s entire history.

Tour and tasting at the Lapostolle Clos Apalta Vineyard

You are visiting the Lapostolle Clos Apalta vineyard, located in the Colchagua Valley.

You’ll enjoy a tour of Clos Apalta. The tour begins at the elevated lookout point, which offers a breathtaking view of the vineyards. You’ll then visit the gravity-fed cellar, with its remarkable architecture, and admire how viticulture and design come together seamlessly. You’ll conclude the tour with a tasting of three wines from the estate.

Return to your hotel at the end of the day.

Day 7: Colchagua Valley – Santiago, Chile

You are visiting the Viu Manent estate, voted one of the 25 best vineyards in the world in 2019.

You’ll explore the vineyards on a horse-drawn carriage ride, then visit the winery to learn more about the vineyard’s history and heritage, and finally taste five wines from the Viu Manent collection.

Tour and tasting of three premium wines at the MontGras vineyard in the Colchagua Valley.

Your driver will pick you up in Santa Cruz and drive you to Santiago.

Day 8: Santiago, Chile – La Serena – Elqui Valley – Pisco Elqui

Domestic flight from Santiago to La Serena (approx. 1 hour; flight listed as an option).

Picking up your rental car.

Explore La Serena, a charming little town with distinctive colonial architecture. Stroll through the Plaza de Armas and the cathedral, try a papaya with cream at the La Recova artisan market, learn about indigenous cultures at the archaeological museum, and enjoy the ocean on the expansive beach at the foot of the lighthouse, the town’s iconic landmark.

Then head to the Elqui Valley. As you make your way toward the foothills of the Andes, you’ll appreciate the contrast between the lush wine-growing valleys and the arid mountains.

Stop in the small town of Vicuña before continuing on to the village of Pisco Elqui, nestled in the valley of the same name.

Day 9: Pisco Elqui – Elqui Valley

Tour of the village, located at an elevation of 1,280 meters. It is a typical village with a beautiful central square, winding, steep streets, and local crafts.

Take a drive through the valley, toward Horcón and beyond. The view of the mountainous wine-growing region is stunning.

You can stop at several Pisco distilleries, such as ABA, located near Vicuña; Mistral, located in Pisco; and finally Los Nichos, located at the bottom of the valley near Horcón. If you prefer wine, we recommend stopping at the Cavas del Valle vineyard (between Paihuano and Pisco Elqui).

Day 10: Pisco Elqui – Elqui Valley

A free day to explore the surrounding area.

Pisco Elqui is an ideal location for stargazing, as the skies here are clear almost all year round. In the evening, you can observe the stars with an expert. You can book tours of small local observatories on site.

Day 11: Pisco Elqui – La Serena – Santiago, Chile

In the morning, head back toward the Pacific and make your way to La Serena. You’ll pass through a few small villages typical of the region. In Vicuña, you can stop and visit a solar observatory, the only one of its kind in Chile.

Arrival in La Serena. Please return your vehicle at the airport before boarding your flight.
